That is really surprising to here that he was the person who wanted to try something different and is now getting recognized for what he did.

Re: Who was the first player to do a basketball "jump shot"?

It is amazing how innovative he was. He took an idea and made it into something that shaped the game forever. He is the forerunner of modern day basketball and most people don't even know his name. And despite knowing how important he was to the game as a whole, he remains modest. His perspective on life is admirable and respectable. He deserves that spot in the Hall of Fame without a doubt.

Re: Who was the first player to do a basketball "jump shot"?

That is just amazing. He started something many people use all the time in basketball. How many times have you heard someone say, I wonder who was the first player to do the jump shot in basketball? Not very many at all. He deserves the recognition and that spot in the hall of fame without a question. What is really astonishing is that he doesn't just take all the credit for this event, he says, hey anyone could have just jumped.
