Topic: Nights in Rodanthe
Adrienne Willis was a single mother of three children. They had all gone to college and she was really proud, like any mother should be. They had all coped with Jack (their dad leaving) after the divorce. Amanda, the middle child and only girl, had been affected the most. After a few years of hanging out with the bad kids, she found herself again. She had gone off to college and met a man she fell in love with. They had gotten married and had two kids. Amanda's husband had been precautionary to ensure that if something were to happen, the family would be safe. He bought life insurance, but didn’t think he would need it for long. He was wrong though. Her husband passed away from testicular cancer. After eight months of deep depression, Adrienne tried to talk to her daughter about it. Amanda had just got angry at her mom about her parents divorcing. Amanda had been getting better, but then their seventh anniversary came, and she stopped. She was neither improving nor degrading.
