Topic: Houdini

It says Houdini would "sweat in that precise struggle". Is that a struggle against evil for life? If it is then how is that possible since he has no fear? Or is he conquering evil by not even believing it in the first place?

Re: Houdini

Houdini does have fear. It does not say it exactly as it is in the poem but figuratively you can see it.
Ex. "chests, hampers, roll-top desks, vaults" - fear of confinement or being buried alive. If that helps. So there is still fear, but that specifically enough isn't what he srtuggles for. He struggles for light and life. I would say he's trying to conquer evil and fear so that he can appreciate light.
