Topic: The False Prince - by Jennifer A. Nielsen

I am reading a new book called The False Prince by Jennifer A. Nielsen.
The book starts off with "For Mom, Every great thing I ever learned from you was taught by example."
Then we have a map of Carthya and the neighboring lands.
This brings us to the first chapter.
A boy is running away from a butcher with a stolen roast.
He trips and falls onto the ground.
The butcher catches up and kicks him in the side three times.
A gentleman sees and stops the butcher, paying him for the stolen roast.
The butcher leaves and then the gentleman picks up the boy.
The boy and gentleman walk to the orphanage.
They meet a woman and she continues the gossip to the gentleman about the boy.
The gentleman decides to take the boy in as his servant.
The boy refuses to go with him and tries to run.
The boy is stopped at the door and knocked out cold.
This is the end of chapter one.

Re: The False Prince - by Jennifer A. Nielsen

I am starting the second chapter of my book.
The boy's name is Sage.
He was taken away by a gentleman named Conner.
Sage is tied up inside a moving wagon.
Sage slowly and carefully opened his eyes to see.
He sees a few other boys and possibly Conner's vigilantes.
They are so different from each other.
One boy notice's Sage is awake and tells Conner's vigils.
Conner's vigil beats Sage up a little bit before stopped by Conner.
Conner introduces Sage to the other boys.
The other boy's names are Cregan, Mott, Latamer, and Roden.
Conner throws Sage an apple to eat but Roden steals it.
The boy's, Conner, and Sage have a small conversation.
The wagon stops in a small town called Gelvins.
Conner leaves the wagon for a little bit.
Sage convinces Latamer to loosen the ropes on his hands.
Sage ties a noose around Latamer's neck.
Roden jumps up surprised and glares at Sage.
Roden allows Sage to leave if he wants.
Sage spares Latamer's life and gives Roden a ceremonial bow.
Cregan jumps into the wagon and threatens to kill Sage.
Conner stops Cregan and introduces a new boy to the group.
The boy's name is Tobias.
Conner explains that they are all going on a quest.
This end chapter Two.

Re: The False Prince - by Jennifer A. Nielsen

I have started and finished reading the third & fourth chapter in my book.
The new orphans name is Tobias.
Tobias is educated and can read books.
Tobias points out that Sage is bleeding.
Sage and Tobias know each other a little.
Connor is hiding the orphans.
They begin to unload the wagon and set up camp.
Cregan starts to make a fire.
After the fire is built everyone starts to sit around the fire.
Connor starts to talk to them about their quest.
He needs one orphan that is the best fitting for his plan.
Anyone who wanted to leave could without and regrets.
Tobias, Roden, Sage, and Latamer politely ask a few questions.
Latamer asks if he can leave, for he is not fit for the quest.
Conner allows him to leave and says that Cregan will take him to the nearest town.
Sage notices that Cregan is not with them at the fire.
Sage tries to warn Latamer but is too late.
Latamer is shot with an arrow and is killed.
Sage attacks Cregan out of rage.
Sage takes Cregan's pocket knife.
Mott stops Sage from killing Cregan.
Tobias, Roden, and Sage are frozen in shock from what had happened.
Once Conner finishes talking to them he suggests they eat.
Tobias, Roden, and Sage can barely look at the food.
After they've eaten something Conner asks them about their swordsmanship.
Tobias can't fight so he says he would ask for mercy.
Roden can fight so he says he would fight till the death.
Sage says he would beg for mercy, wait for them to let their guard down, then attack.
They finish their talk and go to sleep.
Roden and Sage talk a little about Connor.
They think he is trying to start a revolution.
This ends chapter three and four.

Re: The False Prince - by Jennifer A. Nielsen

I have started and finished reading chapter five and six.
Sage wakes up to a tug on his leg.
Sage's leg is chained to Mott's leg.
Connor doesn't want Sage to run away so they chained him up.
Sage wakes up Mott because he needs to go to the bathroom.
Mott takes him over to the bushes and waits.
Once he's done Mott chains them up again.
In the morning Connor tests the orphans knowledge on Carthya.
Connor asks them questions about the King and Queen.
Asks them about the King and Queens son.
Teaches them about the regents.
If the answer the questions correctly or ask an excellent question they are rewards with a piece of bread.
Connor plans on turning Sage, Tobias, and Roden into gentlemen in two weeks.
Sage questions why he is in a rush to turn them into gentlemen.
Connor replies with "That's when I will choose one of you.
Tobias, Roden, and Sage realize that Connor will more than likely kill the two he doesn't choose.
They get into the wagon and continue their journey.
This ends chapter Five and Six.
